I think spies just need to be a bit faster than Pyro's when they aren't disguised.

Ahh the old scout "grenades". I think they used to do some damage too.

Yeah, caltrops used to do <5 damage and slow you down a bit. They were a joke though, anyone who'd played for more than 30 minutes could maneuver around them. They'd have to make them more effective to warrant being an unlockable.

As for Palin's engi ideas: I like the thumper idea, and the shield idea. The thumper could probably be just an upgraded dispenser, it gains metal slower. Shield I dont think needs to be easily damaged on one side. They played around with this idea in fortressforever before discarding it, the engis were going to be able to erect walls and buildings as well as guns. A little touch of that would be interesting. Imagine being a scout trying to run around a big group of guys, only to find a big wall blocking a doorway. I'd hate it.

The tesla idea is nifty, but kind of unnecessary. I don't know what they'd do instead, though. The sentry is already way powerful in tf2. They upgraded it like 400% since tfc.

I feel engineers should have some gadget that ****s with other engineers buildings. I'd like to see the pistol become the ray gun from tfc as some kind of sentry-damaging weapon. Ion cannon from star wars comes to mind. Just disables it for some time, and no amount of wrenching would bring it back before the timer runs out. The shotgun... maybe something a little more anti-people. The double-barrel shotgun should make a comeback. Maybe for the soldier instead of the engi, though.

OOOOHHHH, they could build more than one sentry gun! Wouldn't that be fun. Either its an unlockable, switch sentries for a weaker version but you can build two. Or if your sentry gets like 25 kills you can build a second maybe.

The idea of the tesla cannons is that they are support cannons. They don't fire as quickly as a normal sentry, which makes them easier to maneuver past and easier to destroy. However, when coupled with a regular sentry, they are incredible at defense. The tesla cannon on the level 3 sentry alone would do wonders to decimate a large offense.

The problem right now is power-gaming. Medics can uber in every 5 seconds with the ubersaw and the Pyro has become a crit machine with a higher capacity for burning people. I fully expect the Spy will become a subversive master, while the Heavy will be more difficult to down and the Demoman will become incredibly destructive, etc.

The Engineer is going to find himself often over-powered with all the new class abilities and weapons.

Just yesterday, I destroyed about a dozen sentries with the Pyro and the backburner. :-\

Don't blame easily destroyed sentries on weakness in the sentries. There are lots of engineers out there with no concept of where to build. I've seen just as many pyros repeatedly throw themselves at a sentry without even setting the engi on fire.

That or you should be able to disguise yourself as a sentry or dispenser....but that's just my opinon. (which is awesome)
Feigning death in TF2 would be awesome, it worked wonders for me in UT3.

Default HELLO this is what I think...

lol ok i'm new to the clan and i know this is a weapons conversation but i just want to say hey i'm Madcop (tom) and i play tf2. (I'm new to the group still in the [APP]). I think they should make the wrench do more than 25 metal for each hit they should make it like the plug-in that some severs have, i don't know what it is called but it does like 100 metal per wrench hit. I also think the pyro is way over powered with the whole 50 health regain i mean come on thats almost half health just for a hit. Although the flare gun stinks (unless you have mad aim) i think they still went alittle over board. The achievements were crazy hard for medic but i think the steam designers figured out that many servers have made sever just to get them (achievements) so they probably will either get much much harder or they will add like 20 more than they made originally. Thank You for listening.

your future TF2 clan member friend,
Madcop

P.S. if you liked my way with words then add me to your steam community friends list my username is Lou19 ( the name came to me when i was watching some dumb show and then man screamed " we have a Lou19 in pursuit " hahah

hahaha yes it would be VERY use full in UT3. Although in TF2 dont you think the engineer would be suspicious if he had 2 dispensers.....lol.... maybe as a barrel or something in the back round you know?..... they need to give him (the spy) a better primary weapon! nice to talk to you ( or reply )

your future friend

Madcop

Default Madcop's thoughts ( from past experiences )

but the engineer isn't a tough enemy. I'd rather go against him ( engi ) then a sniper. and once the gun is down all you have to do is kill him. Unless he gets a lucky crit you pretty much win!
