Steam Account Hijacked

My Steam account has been hijacked, and am currently sending Valve the information. If you see me online, IT IS NOT ME. Please do your civic duty and call "me" every single vulgar thing you can think of. In the meantime, I've set up a new account:

Please do your part by calling "me" a douche. Hopefully, this problem will be solved soon. Thank you.

wait...you didn't give you account name and password via steam messaging to a "Automated System Help Bot"?

This is the message the scammers sent me, so for anyone who reads this and happens to get this message don't say anything:

"5:46 PM - Automated System Help Bot: Hello, Steam Automated Support has detected multiple logs of access of this Steam account from other countries other than the original IP address. Steam Automated Support will be forced to put a permanent ban on this account unless the current user confirms the account login information in the form of: Username/Password. It is vital if you are the original owner of the account to state your Username/Password so that you can continue to access your account."

Yes.... and I feel like an idiot.

He must be someone on both our friends lists. He may be targeting OWS members if that's the case.

NEVER EVER listen to stuff like that. Valve will never contact you in any way besides email. But be warry of email. I get fake emails saying that I tried to recover my pass word. OF course its a well made fake and the sender just wants me to use the "replacement" password.

yes, I got that message today, while playing on the EGO servers, so it must definitely be someone on our friends list rather than a server spammer

and no I did not reply, what part of DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD did you not understand
not to be rude Magnus, but you deserve to be yelled at for falling for the scam

I've sent a help request to Valve, so hopefully this will all be over soon. I have officially hopped aboard the fail boat and set a course for the Isle of the Pwned. Please berate me more.... I deserve it for ignoring something that I've seen a gazillion times and have never taken to heart.

To be honest, I don't know what I was thinking. I've never felt more stupid in my entire life. This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have EVER done, and that's saying something.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.... I hope none of you are stupid enough to make the same mistake I have.

It is a friend on your lists. He's contacted Valve, just disregard the mesage and close the window.

edit: oh and I'm pretty sure even if you put your password in to send it to someone else in steam, it pops up and says "WARNING YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEND YOUR PASSWORD. WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD" in addition to the message that is on top of the chat. Did it do this?
