Hey, I am starting to learn how to animate using 3D Max. I'm using video tutorials made by: Jenniffer!! 
I just thought I'd share what I've done so far with you guys.

sorry for the download, but the video wouldn't run smoothly at a smaller resolution, so... BTW it's in .wmv format, if you need a different format, just tell me what, and I'll try to do it.
Also, I did not create the model. Lucky Shot did. I am just trying to animate it.
When I get to the reloading animations (up next) I want to try and make them like COD4, because I really like those animations.

Oh cool. I have thought about looking into some alternatives to XSI Mod Tool (limiting), although I guess I could
pretend to be a student long enough for the ~$2000 discount for a real XSI version  . So, what version do you have? |

isn't 3D Max like, $3,500?

Ahahaha. Yeah, most of the 'commercial' licenses are out of reach for 'hobbyists'. The only viable way is to get an Academic version for long term,
although that's not exactly cheap, mind you. About @$275-300 for XSI 7 Academic. commercial licenses are $3000 - 4700, depending on the version.

I know about blender, haven't really tried it though.
But blender can't animate can it?

It doesn't seem like blender is nearly as popular for video game uses, but It definately includes all the necessary tools.

Yeah, maybe, but then I'd probably have to figure everything out myself... :P
Tutorials help a lot.
